Carole Marlene Lawton is the third child of Edward and Muriel Lawton and was born on the Old Black River Road.

All the kids were put outside on a kitchen chair to get a picture taken. here is Carole having her turn, with curly hair and bare feet and ragged bloomers.

Edward has his army shirt and shorts on as he stands with Jean and Carole in front of his own house during the war.
Jean is playing with a can, a popular toy, for making mud-pies or collecting worms.

Carole stands in the yard. On the horizon is the Beyea farm, the original Robert Lawton place on the Cottage Road.
