Jean Bernice Lawton is the second child of Edward and Murial Lawton and was born on the Old Black River Road. Jean was always petite and blond, very active and outgoing. She loved to dance. She is intelligent and was ready to go out into the world to make her own way. She went to work early, working at Robbins Drug store and other places in Saint John before moving to Ontario where she worked until retirement. When it was my turn to go to town with Mom, Jean would fix me an icecream soda at the Soda Fountain at Robbins. It was wonderful. She would serve apple pie and icecream to Dad, too.
Jean's first daughter, Cindy, died as a baby. Cindy was as sweet as an angel. Jean raised a family of five and has several grandchildren. She is as active as ever. She is still dancing.
