The Smithtown Loyalist Cemetery is more of less a private cemetery, as it is situated on land originally the property of James (Isaiah) Smith, and is now the property of Mrs. Lulu Bell, d/o J. Newton & M. Jane Bell, and great, great, great granddaughter of James (Isaiah) and Joanna Smith. This cemetery is on the south side of the Smithtown covered bridge. As far as I know the above list of names is correct. According to some records the first Smith who came to New Brunswick with the Loyalist was James, but I have old deed where his eldest son, Isaiah, was referred to as Isaiah, Jr., leading me to conclude that his name was Isaiah. / Mrs. Murial Sweeney, Hampton, NB {The information herein was obtained from a lady who lives on a farm where the Loyalist Graveyard, Smithtown, is located.
