Robert Lawton and his wife, Anne Jane White raised their family on this farm overlooking the Bay of Fundy, on the Cottage Road, on the corner of the Old Black River Road, sometimes called the Beaver Lake Road, in Saint John NB. Here they had a lovely farm but also, tragedy, as one of the sons, Oliver, died in a barn fire soon after his father's death from kidney disease. They also lost a twin son, George, and son Robert who died young.

If Robert's mother and father were born in England, then he is not connected to the LOYALIST LAWTONS. This I suspected, as he did not seem to be inside that circle at all. JOHN Lawton Loyalist left lots of evidence in archives, newspapers etc. on his family but his brother James still proves very elusive, a few news articles and tidbits that allow deductions by elimination, but not precise evidence. I feel quiet confident, that George Lawton from England is Robert's father, as I believe Robert must have known where his parents were born. This was my first instinct and I think, at last, the truth. Also, this census shows Amy and Wilfred are not twins, disagreeing with the 1881 census.

On Rothesay Ave., near the Courtney Bay, Robert Lawton's stone still stands
while so many have disappeared. He lies with his younger children .
His wife and son Francis are buried in FernHill.
NOTE FIRST PARAGRAPH IN ABOVE ARTICLE HAS BEEN PROVED INACURATE. ROBERT IS NOT THE SON OF JAMES AND THE ROBERT LAWTON FARM WAS PROBABLY PART OF THE HAZEN GRANT.
Note; brain tumor was a myth. Francis suffered from runaway schizophrenia.
Ann Jane's burial permit that Mary Edith signed all over.
Note... the Mr lawton ( Robert) was dead and Ann Jane was widow.
The census of 1911 shows the above living at the farm. In 1903 Ann jane sold a piece of the farm known as Park View to Francis and later in 1911 she sold the rest to ephraim and moved into town. Ephraim soon sold it to Walter Beyea, his nephew, son of his sister Theresa. The Beyeas still own the land. Ephraim and his wife went to Maine and carried on the twin tradition with twin boys.

A descendancy chart for Robert and Ann Jane is much too long and I wish to give each member their due. The ones with large families will have a page of their own and the others will be elaborated on here soon.
