Wallace Hale, p. 254, that a Robert Eggar was a witness to the will of Frances Lawton in the city of St. John in 1818.......I am wondering who this Frances is and connection to this Robert??????? Diane Eager Do you find this valuable?

Frances Lawton was the wife of Thomas Lawton, a Loyalist who came up to Saint John with his father, Isaac Lawton. Thomas and Isaac were important citizens. I will try to find out who Robert Eager was. Rosi

I have her will and I will post a cropped photo of the signatures...it looks like Robert Eggar to me and there was one of right age who was married in Fredericton. The will was signed in 1818 and Robert Eggar got married in 1826. I will start a Question and answer page and put the photo there...look under updates to find it quickly. Rosi

I must say this site has been the most informative I have seen about St. John and its history. That is why I am asking anyone with St. John records at their disposal for help with EAGER family there. Again, we are a brick wall (for many years) with Richard EAger, whose birth certificate says he was born in St. John, New Brunswick and that his father (whoever that is) came from Ireland. I had that Robert Eggar lead, but am interested in any other mention of EAGER, EGGAR and other various spellings that you might have. I saw a map on this site that appeared to say Joseph Eager, but I couldn't read closely enough. Realizing this is an imposition to your own Lawton research, I hope that if someone has other EAGER info, they would let me know. THANKS.....Diane Do you find this valuable?

I just found a William Eager who was a famous painter---lived in Newfoundland and came to St. John's and opened his studio at the Old Lord's Theatre---then moved to Halifax in 1834. Do you know anything about him or this studio or family. He married a Maria Saunders. AND came from County of Cork-- Diane Do you find this valuable?

I realized that I had not included a birth date for Richard Eager; it is 1819 and we know that he is in St. Louis, Mo in mid-1840's. So we are looking for the parents--and we know father came from Ireland. Thanks, again. Do you find this valuable?
